Around 1974, We found out our grandmother, Lena Yeager Jones (Mother to Edwina and Patricia), was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). She also had diabetes. Eventually she began dialysis. She ended up loosing both her legs before she lost her life in her mid 60’s .
Around 1982, our mother, Edwina, found out she had PKD and was in renal failure. She started on dialysis and continued on it for 16 years. Eventually loosing her leg and then her life at 65 years young.
All of the Carle children were tested for PKD with three of my four sisters testing positive. Our oldest sister, Paula Carle Bosch, Michele Carle Bosch, and youngest sister Stephanie Carle Lambert.
Paula would go on dialysis and eventually received a donor kidney. But only after a few short years it was diseased and failed so she went back on dialysis. Then later died at 62.
Steph was recently diagnosed with a Brain Aneurysm that can be caused by kidney disease.
We now think Grandma, Mom, Paula and Aunt Pat might have passed from an Aneurysm as well.
Our cousin Brian Hughes died in his 50's.
This disease is vicious and there is a cure out there, we just have to find it before our hearts are broken again.
Love to all❤️
